“I want to thank Shepherd's House for allowing MAHS to be a part of this event to give back to the community. I am excited about working with you in the future to help positively impact and serve the Monroe Area Community.”
MAHS provided school supplies.
The Walton County Conservation District provided an additional educational component to the SH BB Give. “As this year’s students were receiving school supplies, they also learned about managing and conserving our counties natural resources and what they can do to protect our beneficial insects like honey bees that pollinate our fruit & Vegetables plants.”
WCCD's pollinator quiz and display was a favorite of the kids
"The First African Baptist church, was honored to partner with Shepherd’s House for a community-wide Back-to-School Book Bag Giveaway, blessing students and families with essential school supplies as they prepare for a new academic year. We offered not just book bags, but prayer, encouragement and hope.
This effort reflects the biblical charge found in Galatians 6:10 – “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
With generous hearts and helping hands, the First African Baptist Church team had the opportunity to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus, offering not just book bags but prayer, encouragement, and hope. Smiles lit up the children’s faces, and parents expressed deep appreciation for both the supplies and the spiritual covering offered through prayer.
Pastor Beckles shared, “Our mission is to serve – not just on Sunday mornings – but every day we’re given the chance. This was more than a giveaway; it was a moment to love our community and cover them with the presence of God as they step into a new school year.”
The First African Baptist Church remains committed to the spiritual and practical well-being of Monroe’s families and looks forward to future partnerships that uplift the next generation."
First AB provided book bags for grades k-12 stuffed with supplies
“After doing my giveaways for 10 years, when you see the kids' faces and tell the parents it’s all free, it doesn’t get any better than that. Kids who don’t have a lot need to know that there’s still folks out there who want to make their day a little better. I’m glad and tremendously blessed that I can do that. I thank Shepherd's House and Gloria for letting me be a part of that.
God bless them."
Craig Turner, The Book Man of Monroe, provided free books and free stuffed animals for grades k-12, Adults and Teachers.
Prices are up and school supplies are expensive, especially if you have more than one child. We appreciate the help, and my kids had a blast with all the games and other stuff."
