About Us

There are so many challenges, changes and issues facing our youth today. Shepherd's House is dedicated to identifying and teaching our youth  to own their own choices and grow up to be leaders. Everything we do is designed to provide youth with the information and encouragement they need to make better choices-socially and academically.  We expect Shepherd's House program participants to learn how to be responsible in school, in the community and at home.  

Our History

Shepherd's House was founded in  2010 in direct response to the alarming and growing number of young men  who are falling through the cracks, either at home, in institutions or in school, or who are already entangled in the juvenile court system.  We  expanded our focus  in 2017  to include young girls,   especially  the issues facing pre-adolescent girls and teens. 

Our boys and our girls are bombarded with confusing images about success and self worth  and they  need positive role models and encouragement to stay focused personally and academically.  


Our Mission

The Mission of Shepherd's House is to help at-risk youth change their behavior and change the direction of their lives  by providing a positive environment through mentoring, leadership development, academic enrichment and support services.  Our structured, fun, educational activities are designed to  meet the behavioral  and developmental needs of youth ages 10-17. These are critical and difficult years. We  aim to equip our youth with the information and encouragement they need to be self-guided and focused.
